Six Mission Agencies Church Planting Among the Unreached of Eastern Europe

Unreached of Eastern Europe – Who are they?

According to the Joshua Project,  “An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance.”

Eastern Europe, is understood to include the countries of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, and Slovakia. It also includes the republics of Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine.

These six mission agencies are focusing on the peoples in Eastern Europe that have no indigenous Christian community (or a very small number).

Six Mission Agencies to Consider

There are many different mission agencies that work among the unreached of Eastern Europe. We have compiled a list of six well-known agencies that we partner with at The Mission App. This list is not in any particular order but each of these agencies does excellent work.

Avant

If you want a mission organization that has been around for over 100 years, Avant Ministries has “focused on planting and developing churches in the unreached areas of the world since the 1890’s.”

According to their website, “During the latter part of the 20th century and early 21st, we have celebrated new fields, new believers and new churches across Europe. Today Avant has ministry in a dozen European nations.”

Avant is carries out their church planting efforts through camps, education, media and more

Christar

Building on our heritage of over 110 years of church-planting experience, Christar cultivates Christ-honoring transformation in communities where He is yet to be worshiped.

According to their website: “Over 450 people groups in Europe are without access to a church that preaches the gospel in their language and in a culturally relevant way, and the continent’s least-reached population is growing rapidly….Christar workers are serving among refugees and immigrants in Europe, seeking to establish reproducing churches and meeting practical needs through a wide range of creative outreaches.”

Team Expansion

Team Expansion began as a prayer movement on the campus of then-Kentucky Christian College in 1978. Over the past 40 years, they have launched missionaries into a number of different regions.

Team Expansion exists to multiply disciples and churches among the unreached. Our desire is to see every person, tribe and tongue reached with the gospel of Christ. We’re working toward that goal through evangelism, church planting, and disciple making movement strategies in strategic ways through your skillset and passions.

SEND International partners with churches to send missionaries from many nations to make disciples among the unreached throughout Asia, Eurasia, Europe, and North America. Their mission is to  mobilize God’s people and engage the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches.

They are currently looking for team members for their church planting teams in Croatia, Romania and the Czech Republic.
